June 2004

Knights of Columbus Council #13407 Newsletter  Vol.1  No.6 June, 2004

PRESENT EVENTS

Mon. June 14- 7pm in the parish hall, our next regular meeting is an important one. The present officers would like for as many as you can attend to place your nominations for the new officers and help us plan out our new Columbian year. (Following on the next page is a rough draft of the “State of our Council”).

Some of you may not be aware but the Knights of Columbus fraternal year is officially from July to July of each year. It is once again time to consider the election of our council officers for the 2004-05 year who will take their elected positions on July 1st of this year and pilot us for our second fraternal year.

At the last officers meeting held on May 24 at Our Lady of the Mountain, it was recommended we follow the lead of many other councils and adopt a two year election cycle for our council officer positions. At our next scheduled council meeting on Monday, June 14th we will vote whether to adopt a two year voting cycle (and retain our present officers for another year) and thereby vote this into our charter by-laws, or not. You are encouraged to attend because your vote on this matter counts. Also, at this time, any current officers may remove their names from the ballot so that we may vote to fill the remaining open seats. This meeting is important to all our members and if you can’t attend please phone or E-Mail your desires in to the Grand Knight so he can consider your wishes.

The MOST PRESSING NEED for our council right now is for a new Financial Secretary, Brother Lou De Poyster is having a new baby and he needs to move on. Please keep this in your daily prayers.
